DTC Newsletter is looking for a short-form video, direct-to-camera content creator to help us grow our social channels

We’re looking for someone who understands how to talk the marketing talk and is ready to flip on the camera at a moment's notice to keep our audience informed and entertained.

DTC Newsletter is the world’s top media source for up-to-the-minute advice and insights about growing, scaling, and finding success as a DTC brand online.

We put out five newsletters and 2-4 podcasts every week, full of news, tips, and actionable education about traffic platforms like Meta Ads, TikTok, and Google, as well as more strategic things like CRO (conversion rate optimization), product strategy, and more. 

ABOUT THE POSITION

DTC Newsletter has 100,000+ followers across all social channels. We are looking for someone who’s passionate about understanding how to organically capture and capitalize on attention.  

If you’re creative and can come to the table with exciting new ideas daily that match our tone and vibe (think education, humor, and entertainment), we want to hear from you! 

We are looking for someone who can ideate, curate, film, and post content across all social media channels to engage with our target audience of digital marketers. You will be responsible for monitoring all social media channels for performance and engagement regularly throughout the day and researching social media trends and marketing best practices to stay ahead of industry trends. 

Digital marketing moves fast, and we do too. Here’s the breakdown we’re looking for:

Daily:

💡 1-2 direct-to-camera short-form videos about relevant things happening in the DTC industry (ex., News, platform updates, etc.)

🏃 Think quick and scrappy! We’re not looking for highly produced on the daily; these can be on the fly in lo-fi style.

🗣️ Tone: Casual but informed. Fun, humorous, and personality infused.

Weekly:

💡 1 longer form, polished video highlighting a marketing story, narrative, and/or source of inspiration for a broad (but marketing-focused) top-of-funnel. (ex., Top 5 funniest ads of all time,
How this company started and sold for $1B in 2 years, etc.)

📈 Our goal here is mass-market marketing appeal with a view count to match.

🧠 It’s expected that you come to the table with content ideas and optimize towards what’s getting engagement.

✅ Resources available: copywriting, graphic design, video editing. 

🎬 Examples: Example 1, Example 2

Candidates must be:

  • A team player.
  • Comfortable in front of the camera.
  • Able to write social media captions and use in-house graphic designers and video editors if needed. 
  • Able to identify and stay up to date with social media trends. 
  • Able to monitor all social post performance and account growth to report back to the team.

Trial Project:

PART ONE

Research and identify one piece of news in the direct-to-consumer/digital marketing space and create a short-form direct-to-camera video (in the above outlined daily style) informing our audience about what’s happening/what they need to know. 

PART TWO
Create one longer-form direct-to-camera video highlighting a marketing story (outlined with examples in the weekly style). The video should be both fun and informative.

Job Type: Full-time (remote)

Salary: Determined based on experience.

Compensation

$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
